Father God,

Today we lift up in prayer our Defense establishment and the Pentagon. For You are the Mighty God, the God Who lifts up believers and righteous nations, and Who casts down evildoers and destroys nations who refuse to repent.

O thus be it ever when free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and war’s desolation
Blessed with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

We humbly confess that although our nation began with the doctrine of Just War when war seemed inevitable, lately the U.S. through a series of increasingly corrupt governments has liberalized the criteria for war and engaged in misadventures that have brought our national morale very low. Truly, we deserve no favor as a nation until these trends are corrected. Nothing but Your grace and mercy can save us.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

We are heartsick, Lord, at the wars against You and Your precepts in all areas of our national life: military matters, education, the media, schools, governments, the protection of life, and even many of the overseers, pastors and members of our nominally Christian and Jewish denominations. With Your help, The People have elected a president who wants deterrence through strength, and if a war is inevitable, a quick and focused strategy to minimize losses.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled;
for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For
nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…

Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

As You help and guide the President and his advisors, Lord, we pray Your wisdom also will penetrate all layers of the Department of Defense, beginning with the Pentagon:

• We lift up the Pentagon's many areas of focus, including ground, sea, air and space, cyber, biological and microsystems defense, and anti-terrorism;

• We pray for foresight and protective futures analysis and strategies at the DoD;

• We pray for effective and just defense policies that preserve and uphold not just the lives, but also the ethics, virtues and freedom of religion of Christians and Jews serving in the military;

• And we lift up every employee of the Department of Defense for a cleansing of the heart and soul, so that their focus may be entirely on serving You through serving their nation and her defense with honesty, integrity and focus.

We pray that small groups devoted to prayer, Bible study and fellowship may develop all over the Pentagon, that they may flourish and sustain the knowledge and planning warriors there.

 and the one who understands obtain guidance…

We pray continually for the protection of the president and his advisors. Father God, now that they have taken on the issue of transgender persons in the military, we humbly pray for Your Will to be done. Thwart the designs of the Deceiver and his minions, who have encouraged defiance against Your creation. Strike down the serpent who would prevent our nation from justly defending our people, Lord.
