Maybe Hank should set up shop over at Ancient Faith Radio. I know I’d listen to him.

Sounds as if some members of the Christian Research Institute (never heard of it) are ignorant bigots.

Eastern Orthodoxy is ancient Christianity & they do believe in the Bible.

...she and many other evangelical Christians were "shocked an surprised" when Hanegraaff announced his recent conversion from Coke to Pepsi.

I have theological issues with Hank that make his "conversion" the least of his issues. I agree it underscores his drift but I find myself agreeing that, apart of the core values and principles of our worldview, Hank's conversion isn't all that earth moving.

Evangelicals also believe in Salvation by the grace of God as a gift, she added, while Orthodoxy considers salvation to be a progress based on good works.

Is that accurate?

Hank Hannegraaff will likely find himself experiencing what is referred to as "white martyrdom"--suffering for the Truth of Christ's Kingdom without the shedding of blood.

He will be in excellent company.

The Antiochian Orthodox Archioces and the Orthodox Church in America have many converts who were clergy in the former lives; many (but not all) who eventually enter the Priesthood.

My AOA parish has five former clergy in the congregation. Some have found satisfying careers in teaching or social services; some struggle.

I find it ironic that those who would be willing to accept the writings of our early church fathers, find the need to continuously justify their rejection of their ancient Church. Perhaps it would serve folks better to more understand the early church of Christ, rather than reviving the old heresies and re-arguing them? Do these festering divisions serve God’s purpose or Satan’s? Ultimately Hank’s employment status is best settled by employment and contract law.

Hank Hanegraaff serves at the pleasure of the CRI board, not at the pleasure of the Martin Family.

I was an employee of CRI from 1967 until 1970 and knew Walter Martin well. He hired me right out of College.

I knew his sons and daughters as children and have not seen them since 1970 although I have been in email contact with Jill.
