Satan never tires of attacking Christ's church. We have our Lord's reassurance that the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
The way people use that phrase, it sounds as though the gates of Hell are attacking the Church. I think Jesus meant that the Church was to attack the gates of Hell.
Well, I have news for you.
This sort of thing has been going on in Catholicism for well over 1,000 years.
The gates of hell are running roughshod over the Catholic church.
Y'all can keep quoting that verse to yourselves in a vain bid to deny the reality of the situation, but the Catholic church is toast.
It doesn't resemble anything even close to what the NT presented a church to look like.
And burying your heads in the sand and repeating that to yourselves to comfort yourselves isn't going to change a thing.
