Exactly. A firm purpose of amendment is critical and the fact that he left that out is suspect. It sounds to me that as long as the couple goes to confession they can receive communion even if they are still living in sin. They can just go to confession (and receive communion) again next week.

A serious question: Can’t every Romam Catholic do that now? Commit a “grave” sin, get forgiveness, communion and then do,so,again in two weeks?
