St. Louis gay activists blast Cardinals for holding 'Christian day' at ballpark

Because it includes Lance Berkman, who believes Christian things.

I've told you this all along. Gay activism isn't really about homosexuals and their "rights." It never has been. They're just useful props.

It is, and always has been, about marginalizing biblical Christianity. And it's working beautifully.

Here's the gameplan:

1. Establish homosexuals as an oppressed minority grievance group. Check.

2. Establish the idea of "pride" for being gay. Check.

3. Pressure major corporations and other societal institutions to join in the celebration of "pride" on threat of boycotts, demonstrations and negative press if they don't. Check.

4. Get in the faces of Christians and demand to know if they agree with the celebration of gay pride and gay marriage. If they don't, demand apologies/ostracization/sensitivity training/firing/whatever.

5. If Christians who don't join the movement cite the Bible as their reason, use this to establish biblical beliefs as "hateful" and "bigoted."

Right now we're in the transition between 4 and 5, and you see it playing out right now in St. Louis. The St. Louis Cardinals are getting ready for an event similar to one many teams in Major League Baseball hold every year, in which present and former players who are Christians share their faith and testimony with fans who attend the event. Gay groups have never protested this event per se, until this year. They are doing so now because the involvement of former Cardinal Lance Berkman gives them an excuse to do so.

6. Make it a crime to say anything in defense of biblical teachings on the matter.

The Washington Nationals just had LMQORXXXAYRYZZ etc day (or having it soon)....

HEY.... BASEBALL

I HAVE AN IDEA....

Why don’t we set aside one or two out of the 81 home games in a year and dedicate it to BASEBALL FAN DAY.

NO RACING PRESIDENTS
NO BETWEEN INNING CONTESTS
NO HONORING STAR WARS or any other ‘character day’.
NO BRING YOUR DOG DAY.

Dedicate the game day(s) to the baseball FAN — you know, the guy(gal) that goes out to the ball park and lays out hundreds of bucks to see two teams play baseball.

Last (and I MEAN LAST) games I went to, I spent most of the day up and down to accommodate the ‘fans’ who spent the day going someplace.

Yes, they also laid out their ‘hundreds of dollars’ and should be ‘free’ to do as they please but one would think if they blew that money on a ball game they would at least spend an inning or two IN THEIR SEAT....

AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, we can go back to one or two announcers per game.

If ‘they’ pay 3 or 4 announcers, they have to have them doing something, so while the game in progress they need to interview players, fans, guests and with two of them airheads you need to keep other things going...

I ‘loved’ the old announcers, who when something ‘spectacular’ happened would just turn on their mikes and STFU and later explaining ‘I just let the play speak for itself’.

With two fools in the booth they have to spend their time second guessing the Mgr and as bad as the ‘homers’ are, at least they are somewhat aware of who is on the field.

What with DH’s, instant replay, no ‘hard’ play, this is definitely NOT the game that I grew up to ‘love’ and memories of sweeping snow off the ‘basepaths’ so we could get a game in in NYS before Christmas.

I guess if we had talking telephones, instant game pads, TVs bigger than a bread box etc we may not have grown a ‘love’ for a game that took some talents to participate in.

Then along came the parents whose kids were supposed to do what they couldn’t do and EVERYONE got a trophy etc.

Of course, being ‘older than dirt’, I remember the days of football with no face mask, baseball without a helmet, baseball where when the inning was over you left your glove on the field - where it was not only safe BUT the other kid could use it if he wanted to and the game being for 9 people meant 9 people played, with the same 9 people hitting, NO DH, NO DR, etc etc etc

Why not start the Fag Baseball League. You could have the New York Yank It, Tampa Bay Gays, Chicago White ***, San Fran C**ksuxers and more. Leave MLB alone, fads.

I remember the days of football with no face mask
I remember that, too. I also remember that, after my brother got paralyzed by a fractured vertebra in his neck, coaches were taught to teach defenders to “see what you hit” when tackling.

And I invite you to explain to me how you expect to convince anyone not wearing face protection to “see what you hit.” Which would be a perfect way to lose your teeth to avoid the relatively rare catastrophic injury.

My brother lived about fifty years afterward - but his death certificate refers to that injury as the cause of death.

I was just stating a ‘fact’ to show that yes, I am (almost) older that dirt.

I remember the first face mask I had in football was a bar that (I guess) was supposed to stop one from their nose taking a direct hit when tackled or when hitting the ground. (I believe that was 55, I was a HS Jr.

I remember the first batting ‘helmet’ was two hard plastic earpieces held together by an elastic type strap....(or maybe two)??
Think they had to be ‘shared’.

I did square around to bunt and got a ‘Sal Maglie Special’ and by the time I bailed out the pitch caught me under the plastic on the left side....

I do consider myself ‘lucky’ and thankful for that uncomfortable thing on my head.... Didn’t make me ‘like’ them any better but I did appreciate it....

There would be bleachers full of pitchers and catchers enjoying the Seventh Inning Felch.
