You too. Stop pinging me to this nonsense. I’m a Jew and have nothing to do with this.
I merely repeated the “To:” line in a post to me as a courtesy.
Needed those, thanks.
You’re welcome.
It’s not nonsense, and it has being on subject matter we both discussed previously.
...has bearing on subject matter, I mean. not "has being".
My eyes are not what they used to be.
It IS nonsense. All this doctrine and procedure is complete nonsense. If you know the Gd of Avraham, Yizak, Yakov/Yisrael, then you know all you have to do is apologize directly to Gd and whomever you wronged. You wake up the next morning knowing Gd acknowledged your apology.
Then if you’re ever tested with the same situation again where you sinned previously and don’t sin, then you made complete repentance.
It’s so simple. All you have to do is trust in Gd’s mercy. Tanakh filled with examples.
What you may not understand, is that I do agree with;
It is proper to mention as you have making amends to the person or persons wronged also, thanks for that...
I agree with that also.
Can you see now what I'm up against when contending with some of the Catholics?
They've built custom upon custom and now mistake that for God's own viewpoint, to the point of strangling it, choking off access to God for anyone but themselves, (if they even enter in, themselves!) and if they can get away with bullying, and convincing anyone of that are in charge.
You may have continuing reservation in regards to "Jesus" and that would be understandable, but ordinary Christians see that one as being the Tanakh come to life in earthly form of a man. For ordinary Christians, that one who came to earth was the same God (in form of a truly "begotten" son) as is evidenced in Tanakh. That does not take the Holy Creator out of His own place...
But never mind that for the time being...
What I was hoping to get across is that Talmud can be not entirely unlike 'custom upon custom' of the Catholic Church, depending on how it is approached.
Both are downstream of Tanakh -- and can be useful for guiding and assisting unlocking greater, deeper meanings, which then can provide yet greater assurance of the Creator's own nature and goodness. But the rabbinical commentaries within Talmud are not as substitute for Tanakh. Instead, those teachings are about what is within message which is within Tanakh.
Personally, I find place for Jewish commentary pertaining to teachings and traditional ways of looking at things (and Talmud), though must hold portions of it at arm's length. A great deal of Latin Church Catholicism I need do the same thing -- if not toss particular portions right straight out.
I have understanding both...and will need to learn more of Muhammadanism to better refute THAT nonsense. Better knowledge of Talmud (on my own part) may be necessary too.
The only good parts (of Muhammad ism) were borrowed from oral traditions coming from Talmud and early centuries Christianity, likely what is termed a Gospel Harmony.
Muhammad wrote NOTHING. It was all conveyed orally (so they claim) and not written down until many decades later. Even then there was more than one version (at first) so they tell falsehood whenever talking about Quran and the Hadiths any differently.
That there is some shreds of "goodness" of God still come through despite Muhammadan's corruptions of what was appropriated -- and that some Muslims can hear and follow that (as long as they do not follow an imam too precisely!) mixed in with pure garbage (which needs to be ignored!) is testimony of more than a few muslim's own decency. How far and few between those may be is anybody's guess. Even in Israel there are Muslims who do not hate the Jews, and do not hate the Jewish State --- would accept that all and do. They are caught between two worlds. The Almighty God sees all, and is not without compassion. Of these things I am convinced.
You may wag your tongue in my direction (or clack at your keyboard) it doesn't change things, not could ever remove what I know of the Lord from having encountered His Spirit. Yet since you have taken it upon yourself to be a little rabbi here on FR --- then you should better know the neighborhood.
What cannot be expected -- is to voice your own opinions -- and expect others to not be allowed to answer back.
