At 72 years old, I have finally learned a great lesson...

After the death of my oldest daughter last month, I was talking to a dear friend on the phone, she said to me: “Move aside and let God do His work”, meaning to help me with my pain, anger, sadness....

Even after I have been given two blessings by My Father at my Church, I still didn’t feel totally at peace, as no mother would, but then he said something to me: “You need to have the comfort of Mother Mary, she stood there and watched them beat Her Son, she stood there and watched them put spikes in His Hands and Feet and then raise Him on that Cross, how do you think she with stood all that pain of seeing Her Son?”...

Well between My Father at the church and my dear friend, I am regaining the peace and comfort of losing my daughter...I just had to have someone clear the fog from my view to see what it was I was missing...

Always, and I say ALWAYS have faith in God, God never makes mistakes, NEVER...it might not be on our time, but it is always on His Time...

Amen.

We may not like the image of slavery

What is that image? Where do we get that image. Why do we focus on only one definition? How many here like the idea of being a slave?

I suspect the image of being a slave in bible times was different?

Noun

1. One who is owned as the property of someone else, especially in involuntary servitude.
2. One who is subservient to or controlled by another: his boss’s slave.
3. One who is subject to or controlled by a specified influence: a slave to alcohol; a slave to an irrational fear.
4. One who works extremely hard.
5. One who acts out the role of the submissive partner in a sadomasochistic relationship.
6. A slave ant.
7. A machine or component controlled by another machine or component.

verb

1. To work very hard or doggedly; toil.
2. To trade in or transport slaves.
3. To cause a machine or component to be controlled by another machine or component.

Historical Usage. A history lesson for many.

[Middle English sclave, from Old French esclave, from Medieval Latin Slav (from the widespread enslavement of captured Slavs in the early Middle Ages); see Slav.]

Word History: The derivation of the word slave encapsulates a bit of European history and explains why the two words slave and Slav are so similar; they are, in fact, historically identical. The word slave first appears in English around 1290, spelled sclave. The spelling is based on Old French esclave from Medieval Latin sclavus, “Slav, slave,” first recorded around 800.

Now if you want to stay anxious and fretful, fine; but if you seek serenity, then invite the Lord into your life every day. Stay faithful to spiritual practices. If you do, I promise (I am a witness) that you will see your anxieties lessen, your fears abate, your serenity grow, and your confidence strengthen. The choice is yours.

Is it serenity that we should seek? Good stuff here, with the premise of seeking God will replace worry, yet ends poorly.

Easy.

Anxiety and worry are a result of feeling not in control and being afraid of what is going to happen to you that you won’t like or don’t want or can’t control.

Recognize that there’s no better person to be in control of my life than God and that with Him in control, there’s no reason to fear of what’s going to happen to you.

Confess to God that you have not been trusting Him as you should and choose to trust Him fully. Then being perfected in love, perfect love casts out fear and it will be a thing of the past.

Sadly, by all appearances, Pope Francis and the Social Justice gang in the Church serve Mammon...
