In broad terms, they're Protestants, period.
Including the Jesuits who had one of their illustrious little twits just say, "all doctrine is open to discernment" which boils down to exactly what Luther preached.

I disagree ... I don’t think those are “mainline” Catholics. The “mainliners” are the ones sitting uncomfortably in the pews waiting for this “progressive” wave to pass and fail. I bet the church will eventually respond just as the US has ... enough will be enough, pope or no pope ... people don’t want their church or their country changed and will eventually take control of it.

This Pope is Ecumenical.
He’s forged allies with the likes of Rick Warren, Russell Moore, and Kenneth Copeland.
He’s also trying to merge Islam with Christianity as Chr-ISLAM.

That's been going on for a long time, and the word "mainstream" wouldn't be regarded as an insult by those involved nowadays.

Lets Start Calling Progressive Catholics What They Really are: Mainline "Unitarian/Universalists"
To: BlessedBeGod
How about we call them what they are, hypocrites.

This order wasnt always a small band of elderly women. In fact,
the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) were among the largest and most successful teaching orders in Americaat the time of the Second Vatican Council (1960-64).

Their sudden collapse is a searing instance of how too many Catholics misread Vaticans II message of renewal as a call to surrender to worldly, secular influences.
