Rt Rev Robert McElroy, Bishop of San Diego, appears to have abandoned party political neutrality to urge a general attitude of opposition to the presidency of Donald Trump at a conference of political activists. In his address to the U.S. regional meeting of the World Meeting of Popular Movements Bishop Robert McElroy said:
President Trump was the candidate of disruption. He was the disrupter. Well, now we must all become disrupters. We must disrupt those who would seek to send troops into our streets to deport the undocumented, to rip mothers and fathers from their families. We must disrupt those who portray refugees as enemies, rather than our brothers and sisters in terrible need. We must disrupt those who train us to see Muslim men and women and children as sources of fear rather than as children of God. We must disrupt those who seek to rob our medical care, especially from the poor. We must disrupt those who would take even food stamps and nutrition assistance from the mouths of children."
Bishop McElroy went on to stress the importance of employment and the dignity of work, calling for an increase in the minimum wage:
For Catholic social teaching, the surest pathway to economic justice is the provision of meaningful and sustainable work for all men and women capable of work. Work is thus a profoundly sacred reality. It protects human dignity even as it spiritually enriches that dignity. If we truly are in our work co-creators with God, dont we think that deserves at least $15 an hour?
Bishop McElroy apparently made no reference to President Trump's policies to promote the return of jobs to the USA and the growing roll call of multinational companies returning investment to the USA.

If he wants to play politics, start taxing the b*tch.
Ditto. Left them in 1973. I’ll make my own peace with my God.
The whole family can move to Mexico. The Catholic Church there can provide support through Catholic Charities, likely at a lower cost.
More voices for the insurrection.
As a Catholic I don’t give a rip anymore about the church hierarchy. They want illegal immigrants because that means more money in the church coffers, and they see the immense power the Catholic church will have in this country because of their influence over this large group of people. Follow the money and the power. The Catholic bishops in this country and the Vatican itself are no better than most politicians.
Fine. Yank their tax exemption.

And Jesus was never disruptive? I think if this Bishop, were he alive in Jesus’ day would have had his money table over turned and have been driven out of the temple as he was lashed with a whip of cords.
Another 10-15 years of this pope and the Catholic church will be what 0 wanted for the US, but didn’t fully accomplish.
Trump is a disruptor. Disruptor of a corrupt Democratic party and their criminal candidate Hillary Clinton.
Disruptor of the GOPe do nothing Uniparty and their global open borders policy's.
Disruptor of the illegal border jumping, education and tourist visa overstaying CRIMINAL invaders from other nations.
Thats why I voted for him !
I don’t think these illegals donate a thing; they are “takers”. It appears the Church makes money from them via the social services industry.
My area is filled with dying parishes in neighborhoods filled with Hispanics; just like the infrastructure of the area (roads, sidewalks, school buildings), they have no interest in contributing to the upkeep of areas abandoned by Yankees - they want the people who fled to keep maintaining everything (including parishes).
He is not going to get many donations to his annual Bishop’s appeal to fund his diocese from parishioners who object to his politics. However would not be surprised if he receives some checks from Soros fronts and other liberal groups.
His Excellency can go p*ss up a rope.
Pull their 501(c) 3 status and watch the heads explode.
Ya’ll have some real winners in the rcc.
I do believe the IRS needs to send a letter to the Bishop regarding their tax status
It’s this Catholic Spring crap
