Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms

(Psalm 110)

Psalm 110

Of David. A psalm.

1 The Lord says to my lord:[a]

“Sit at my right hand
    until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”

2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,
    “Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

3 Your troops will be willing
    on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,
    your young men will come to you
    like dew from the morning’s womb.[b]

4 The Lord has sworn
    and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
    in the order of Melchizedek.”

5 The Lord is at your right hand[c];
    he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead
    and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
7 He will drink from a brook along the way,[d]
    and so he will lift his head high.

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The Most High!
You Alone Are The One True God Of The Universe,
You Are The Ancient Of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
and Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Have Made Us,
and All That Is.
You Are The Same Yesterday,
Today, and Forever.
Your Loving Kindness Is from Everlasting To Everlasting.
Even When We Are Unfaithful,
You Are Always Faithful.

1. The LORD said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
2. The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!

LORD, We Pray For the Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise!
As We Humbly Pray This Psalm of David Before You,
We Acknowledge Your Absolute Sovereignty,
But Also Your Absolute Righteousness,
Holiness,
and Faithfulness to Your Promises and Precepts.

3. Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness,
from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.
4. The LORD has sworn
And will not relent,
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

We pray for an END to Lies,
Slander, Blood Libel, Propaganda,
and Antisemitism against Your Beloved.
We Pray For an End to Slavery,
Hostage-Taking,
and Piracy wherever it is Practiced Around the World.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews, In Bondage in Hostile lands.

5. The Lord is at Your right hand;
He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath.
6. He shall judge among the nations,
He shall fill the places with dead bodies,
He shall execute the heads of many countries.
7. He shall drink of the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He shall lift up the head.

We Pray For the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA, May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Western Holiday of "St. Valentine's Day" has a very strange impact on the rest of the world. It is outlawed under Sharia Law, and any person in these Islamic countries can get into a lot of trouble for merely sending a card or a rose to someone they care about. It is considered a "Christian" holiday, and, therefore "Haram" or "forbidden. Feminists and other leftists also seem to hate this holiday, saying it represents "Patriarchy" and the "Oppression of Women". (sigh).

In my humble opinion, I believe that the Left despises this holiday because of its origin, which is the celebration of marriage between a man and woman who are in love. The original St. Valentine was a priest who consecrated secret Christian Marriages in a pagan society that forbade it. The idea of two people falling in love and marrying outside either the state or the prevailing religion's authority is REVOLUTIONARY. The very thought that a man and women could choose their own mate without the parents' input, that arranged marriages weren't so great, and that a daughter was not a mere commodity to be used in negotiating family alliances, was unheard of in previous centuries.

In "Fiddler on the Roof", Tevye's 5 daughters all choose their own mates, to the great distress of their father, who has to rethink all of his Traditions. It is very poignant, because he loves his daughters but has a hard time dealing with the concept of "Romantic Love".

Our Culture is struggling with those concepts again, as the Institution of Marriage is attacked by secularists, the left, and the media. So, give someone a "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting today, and celebrate "Romance". It is not only fun, but was invented by God Himself when He created Adam and Eve!

Today's Psalm is Messianic, and is the opener for the great "Hallelujah" Section of the Wonderful Book of Psalms.
