Pope Francis: «There is corruption in the Vatican. But I’m at peace» [Catholic Caucus]
Corrier Della Sera ^ | February 9, 2017 | Antonio Spadaro

Some are, I might say, ‘restorationist’: they seem to offer security but instead give only rigidity. When they tell me that there is a Congregation that draws so many vocations, I must confess that I worry.

Others are Pelagians: they want to go back to asceticism, do penance. They seem like soldiers ready to do anything for the defence of faith and morals ... and then some scandal emerges involving the founder ...

Pope Francis: There is corruption in the Vatican. But I’m at peace

Well, that's what's really important.

Keep in mind, this is written by Fr. Antonio Spadaro, AKA “the Pope’s mouthpiece.” I’m sure he cleaned it up to make Francis sound coherent.

And the will of God is to be sought according to the true doctrine of the Gospel and not in the rigidity of an abstract doctrine.

So, here we are with "rigid" again. Since he believes orthodox Catholics are rigid, and the Ten Commandments are rigid, what exactly is the "true doctrine of the Gospel" to him?

Justification by faith alone.

Has there ever been a Pope who spewed forth such a constant stream of insults and ridicule against Catholics? It's become an almost daily diatribe; "Pelagians"..."Restorationists" and of course, the inevitable "rigid". By know, we can recite it almost by heart. It's a constant stream of negativity which does nothing but defame, demoralize and dishearten those who are trying, often in the most difficult circumstances, to live out their faith.

Moreover, it's directed at nothing more than a straw man; the imaginary Jansenist Inquisition which has choked the Church for the past 50 years.

What a nasty, uncharitable little man.

For once, Frank is correct. There is massive corruption in the Vatican, and it is headed by the Argentinian residing in the Vatican motel.

Only an evil man could be “at peace” after all the destruction and confusion he has caused.

How can he be at peace without even answering the dubia that was presented to him by the Cardinals?

Saint Gregory: “Many attain to faith, but few to the heavenly kingdom.”
Saint Anselm: “There are few who are saved.”
Saint Augustine: “Therefore, few are saved in comparison to those who are damned.”
Saint Jerome: “Out of one hundred thousand people whose lives have always been bad, you will find barely one who is worthy of indulgence.”
