Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms

(Psalm 57)

Psalm 57[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
    for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
    until the disaster has passed.

2 I cry out to God Most High,
    to God, who vindicates me.
3 He sends from heaven and saves me,
    rebuking those who hotly pursue me—[c]
    God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

4 I am in the midst of lions;
    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
    whose tongues are sharp swords.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

6 They spread a net for my feet—
    I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
    but they have fallen into it themselves.

7 My heart, O God, is steadfast,
    my heart is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul!
    Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.

9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

How we love to give You The Glory.

Our Refuge in Times of Trouble,

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

God's quality of "Omniscience" is one that keeps me amazed and awestruck. How King David, nearly 3000 years ago and 9000 miles away from 2016 America could have come up with these Psalms, and how the various scholars could have put them in this particular order, and how, after studying Proverbs at the suggestion of one of our Prayer Warriors on this Thread, that Psalms (in order) keep showing up that address precisely the daily situation.

Today's Psalm continues the theme of the wicked and their evil schemes being thwarted, one after the other.

On another thread I read of "artists" demanding that Melania Trump remove their artwork from her walls. As an artist myself, I am DEEPLY offended by these guys! There is nothing more validating to an artist than to have somebody buy your art and display it proudly. I posted this on the thread:

Sell ALL the works at ridiculously LOW prices at a big yard sale, thus reducing the market value of ALL of the “artist’s” output!

But I am sure Melania has a lot more "class" than I do, and will handle it differently. God will take care of it, just like He has taken care of every one of their evil schemes so far!
