Pope Francis Pummels Traditional Priests, Seminarians, Laity … Again. What Can We Learn From That?
Fr. Z's Blog ^ | 12/12/16 | Fr. John Zuhlsdorf

Over the last few years, Our Holy Father Pope Francis has said some pretty awful things about priests. He doesn’t limit himself to priests. Remember how he pummeled the Cardinals and Bishops of the Roman Curia as a Christmas gift a couple years ago? HERE Everyone is a target: women religious, theologians, canonists, you name ’em.

The other day, during his daily Mass fervorino he recounted an anecdote – actually, a bit of gossip – in a rather – well, there isn’t any other way to take it – insulting manner about a seminarian getting some clerical gear. He heaped ridicule on this seminarian and on pretty much anyone who respects and uses outward traditional garb or, I suppose, anything else that is traditional. I am reminded of his mocking of an altar boy who was standing with his hands folded together carefully… as altar boys ought. I am reminded of his scoffing at a spiritual bouquet which people presented to him.

I honestly don’t know what His Holiness is trying to accomplish with these harsh gestures and words. It could be that – while they deal with things that are not his cup of tea – he says them before their possible impact is considered.

BUT … Don’t we all do that? I know that I do, sometimes. And I regret it afterward. I suspect that Pope Francis does too.

Let’s see his words posted at the site of Vatican Radio:

“About rigidity and worldliness, it was some time ago that an elderly monsignor of the curia came to me, who works, a normal man, a good man, in love with Jesus – and he told me that he had gone to buy a couple of shirts at Euroclero [the clerical clothing store] and saw a.........

Was Francis a community organizer in Argentina? Sounds a lot like Obunghole.

Bergoglio is a joke and everyone knows it, even the priests and deacons at every Mass that ask the faithful to pray for him. How long will this non-Catholic be allowed to tear the Catholic Church apart?

If this misery, disturbance and agonizing test must be laid upon me, by this pope, as if some form of spiritual stripes against me, at the pillar of the Vatican, but for my salvation, then I must endure.

Otherwise, God save me.

Reasonable men, in surveying the chaos, the confusion, and the unkind destruction of Catholic Tradition and identity, can rightfully wonder if schism is actually the goal of these bitter actions.

I am sure I don’t know what is going on. I recognize nothing Catholic is in the noise.

So if Pope Hippie Frank and his cabal start excommunicating people who won’t toe the leftist line, then what?

He will have officially exposed himself as a prideful idiot/schismatic who imagines that he possesses greater wisdom than God Himself.

The question being what will actual Christians do?

Will there be a new Pope elected? Church in exile? Another Reformation?

I admit that I’m on the outside looking in, but I’ve met a fair number of Catholics convinced that anyone who is outside the Roman church body is damned. So what happens when they’re expelled from that body because they won’t go along with the anti-Christ attitude of Frank the Hippie Pope?

We seem to be in uncharted waters. We have an occupant of Peter's chair who is deliberately promoting ideas contrary to the Deposit of Faith. It is he who appears to be in schism with all previous Popes, and therefore he who is seemingly outside the body, while he attempts to invert reality by implying that Catholics who adhere to the Deposit of Faith are the ones sabotaging the Church. Opposition is building among those in the chain of command who have the authority to call him out on his heretical activities. How he will respond at that point is anyone's guess. He doesn't have the authority to excommunicate Catholics for adhering to the Deposit of Faith, but it's possible he'll pretend otherwise. Time will tell.

I wouldn't be surprised. He's already pretending the Holy Ghost, "the god of surprises", is talking to him. And we have seen him to be a very vindictive man.
