Describing sterilization as essential health care, the American Civil Liberties Union has filed a complaint with the US Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights against Ascension Health, the nations largest Catholic hospital system, as well as a subsidiary, Genesys Health System.
Arguing that Ascension and Genesyss policy banning tubal ligations discriminates against women on the basis of sex, the ACLU called upon the federal government to take steps to ensure that Ascension and Genesys adhere to the non-discrimination protections guaranteed by Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.
Complaint Filed Against Catholic Hospitals Over Refusal To Perform Sterilizations (Religion Clause)
Geez. I have no words anymore. There are hundreds of surgeons who will perform this procedure somewhere else.
Can’t be cutting into the abortion business profits.
And hundreds of bakers who will make cakes for queers.
But that's not the point, now, is it.
There are hundreds of surgeons who will perform this procedure somewhere else.

I am sure I am ‘preaching to the choir’
BUT
That is not the point.
To use a sort of ‘crude’ example, if your town allowed people to sign up, allowing anyone to ‘crap’ on anyone elses lawn and you were the only one that didn’t sign up, the entire town and townsfolk would be suing you to let them crap on YOUR lawn.
And bet your bippy somewhere along the line some Judge would agree that ‘you’ were worthless and not only sign an edict to allow others to crap on your lawn, you would be ordered to clean up everyone elses lawn.
That is how it is starting to work.....
i dont know where ACLU attorneys went to law school, and I dont want to know. But these institutionally indoctrinated attorneys are evidently clueless about the following concerning federal civil rights.
Not only is the only sex-related right that the states have constitutionally authorized the feds to strethgen deal only with voting issues as evidenced by the 19th Amendment, health issues clearly outside the scope of voting issues in this example, but neither have the states amended the Constitution give the feds the specific power to regulate INTRAstate healthcare.
So by filing this complaint, the ACLU is unthinkingly helping to unconstitutionally expand the unconstitutionally big federal governments powers. And maybe that is what the ACLU is actually trying to do.
What an imbecilic lawsuit! Catholic hospitals will not perform operations to sterilize ANYONE male or female. How is that discrimination based on sex against women when men and women are treated exactly alike?
Like I said, there are no words.
