Those fantastic attempts by mankind to honor God are owned, physically, by mankind. God may or may not be impressed by them, but they were feeble attempts to show God that we adored Him......People have done so since the beginning of belief in a supreme being.

They are not fantastic attempts. They are abmoninations, monuments to self-serving, man-made religion.

In heaven the streets are paved with gold. Gold is pavement. For the very best we can do, we might as well just build a sand castle. Because compared to heaven, they're both on the same level.

God is more pleased with our hearts than elaborate buildings erected to religion. He's more interested in how we treat each other than what what is erected to Him. Don't forget, He allowed the Temple in Jerusalem to be destroyed and if there was anything built in His honor, it was that.

Acts 17:24-25 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

The best way to show God how much you love Him is to live for Him. Not to build edifices to religion claiming it's honoring Him.
