Not even close to true. The seven Deacons were chosen to specifically serve food to the widows and poor people of the church. They were men who were chosen to serve. Acts 6:1-15

So, when the seven Deacons gave food to the widows and poor people, they STAYED around their abodes and served them while they ate? I didn't know they SERVED the food. How nice of them...above and beyond giving them food. Waited on by the Deacons. They were the first "waiters" union.
