That is surprising. The Pakis and Indians are not known for treating women with the greatest of respect. Maybe some busybody first-world politician said, they will not receive the same amount of foreign aid until they start allowing for Trans and Gay marriage. The ‘Happy Couple’ would probably still need to keep their marriage plans and place of ceremony secret. Somebody may want to throw a pitcher of acid in the Newlywed’s faces; ‘In the name of Allah’, of course.
Unlike Judaism, Christianity, and even Islam, none of the Indian based religions are against homosexuality. In fact they don’t mention or condemn at all. Their mild resistance to homosexuality in practice is due to British cultural influence.
