Heavenly Father, we thank You for the love that keeps us, now and forever.

Lord, we pray that You will look with concern on our armed forces and all that concerns them. Give them grace in their personal and professional lives.

God, we confess that sometimes we resent Your goodness to others, wanting Your mercy or blessings for ourselves but not for them; we confess that we become too concerned with passing things, that come and leave overnight, and neglect what matters more. Forgive us for this and draw our hearts after Yours. For You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. You are concerned about all men, and even the animals, and You exercise Your providence through a thousand ways, small and great. We give our praise to You, O God, through the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen.
