For many of us our fathers have passed from this world. I thought I would start a thread on which to remember them in prayer. Feel free to add your own prayers and to name your father if you so wish.
Grant rest Oh Lord to the soul of your servant John and make his memory to be eternal!
Thank you for posting this. My dad had to leave school in the ninth grade due to the depression and his father’s passing. He had to work to help support a large family.
He served in WWII and loved his country. His parents were Italian immigrants.
He passed in 2003 and I miss him every day. He had the rosary in his hands when he passed.
Happy Father’s Day in heaven, Dad.
He taught me how a man is supposed be, how he is to live, be a husband, father, brother, friend and provider.
He (and his four brothers) had a "basso profundo" voice and my girlfriends were scared to call me. I did get my own phone when I was 16 as I was allowed to work and keep the money for what I wanted: baseball tickets and a princess telephone (light up dial).
Any boyfriend I had always came FIRST to meet the dad. He scared them too and I was ALWAYS home on time with NO problem.
My mother used to give me a DIME for an emergency phone call. My daddy gave me $5.00 for cab fare home...and that was a lot of money back then.
