The ex-senior pastor at Seattle's Mars Hill megachurch, which imploded in 2014, formally launches his new operation in Scottsdale, Arizona. Driscoll is still facing a federal RICO racketeering suit by former church members in Seattle. But he is preaching at evangelical conferences around the country...
He was brought down, in Seattle, after a complaint by 21 Mars Hill pastors and worship leaders that Driscoll had bullied, intimidated and manipulated those who worked at the church. The charges were sustained, in a report never released by church elders.
Driscoll brought misogyny and homophobia to the pulpit. He famously called women "penis homes", decried "effeminate, anatomically male worship leaders," and described America as a "pussified nation" in which men are "raised by bitter penis envying burned feministed single mothers."
And Driscoll once characterized Jesus as "a prizefighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His hand and the commitment to make someone bleed."
Mars Hill was bled, made to purchase 11,000 copies of a Driscoll book on marriage, valued at around $210,000, as part of a consultant's effort to put it on the New York Times bestseller list. The consultant was paid $25,000. Driscoll was also accused of lifting passages from other people's books...

John MacArthur and others warned about Driscoll long before he was exposed at Mars Hill. I didn’t care for his approach or style, so I never paid any attention to him and didn’t expose my children to his ministry. I’m thankful for that.

When a man hates women and is obsessed with talking about genitals, he’s often homosexual. I understand (from various articles and book reviews) that Mr. Driscoll is really into sodomitic sex acts, too.

When I saw “new posts for you” in red, I scanned down the religion section. Somehow I knew it would be the Driscoll piece.
I understand (from various articles and book reviews) that Mr. Driscoll is really into sodomitic sex acts, too.
In his sex book he talked about, oh, never mind. Stuff that comes under "you and your wife do what you want in the privacy of your home, but I don't need or want to hear about it."

You are so right. I never liked this guy but he seemed to have a cult following, even among some at my church who are pastors. I also read somewhere, where he was giving marital advice, he liked the butt sex and often look at his wife's behind at the grocery store. The way he had talked about her and their sex life was vulgar and disrespectful. The guy is a freak. So glad he was exposed for the fraud that he is.
Apparently some people are still falling for it. He’s “healed,” you know, and moved on ...
He thinks wives should do those acts whether they want to or not. It’s biblical, you know. Never mind that God didn’t design the bodies of men and women to perform one particular act.
What a prize jerk.
Some men’s version of Christianity sounds an awful lot like Islam.
