Absolutely. Grace and truth never changes but church doctrines tend to change quite a bit.
Did you read the article?
You might want to focus on the last line.
**None of these issues deals with doctrine as such (since doctrine is unchangeable) but with Church discipline, government, and penance.**
Catholic Doctrine does NOT change.
Well, they no longer sell indulgences (I think) and quit burning heretics alive (thank goodness) so those are positive changes. Churches change but it is God that does not change.
Some people would be better off to not open their mouth.
The doctrine, DOGMA, of the Catholic Church DOES not change, no "tend' about it. It can't change because THAT IS THE NATURE of doctrine.
Why say "absolutely" then turn around in the VERY next words and say "but church doctrines tend to change quite a bit"???? You don't make much sense with that MOST contradictory statement.
Sins HAVE been added: abortion is a mortal sin. So is "assisted suicide." Those things didn't exist in such a public eye before. Now, they exist and are LEGAL.
How CONTRARY to God's law are they??????
They may be acceptable in some Protestant denominations but NOT in the Catholic Church. They always were sins; still are; and will ALWAYS be a SINS.
The Catholic Church also has MORTAL and venial sin as abortion, a MORTAL SIN, CANNOT be equal to a small white lie, a venial.
Example of a small white lie: saying to someone about how great a hairdo may be, when the hairdo is actually horrible...after s/he asks "How do you like my new hairdo?"
