(Acts 4)

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We Praise Your Name.
You Alone Are Holy,
Wonderful, and Glorious.
Thank You For Giving Us Your Word,
Which sometimes contains hard lessons.
We Thank You For Our Mentors and Teachers,
That You Will Give Them a Double Portion of Your Spirit.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.


We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

When I was in High School, back in the 1960's, I found the idea of "communes" interesting (I have grown up since then!) In my own area of West Roxbury, MA there were the ruins of a 19th century commune that was started by "intellectuals" called "Brook Farm". I decided to do my Senior Paper on this subject.

I did enough study and research to merit an A+ on my thesis. However, my conclusions did not match up with my pre-conceived notions about the subject! What I ended up discovering was that the only successful and viable communes in history were the Kibbutzim in the then newly formed State of Israel. There was a commune in 19th Century America that was successful for a while, but it made the BIG mistake of setting a date for Jesus' Second Coming. When that date came and went, the commune broke up.

My conclusion, back in 1969, was that Communism, Socialism, and Communal Living DOES NOT WORK, unless totally underpinned by a shared religious conviction that motivates the people to discard their own selfish ambitions.

Somehow, "Liberation Theologians" didn't get the memo, even though a Boston teenager in 1969 was able to figure it out.

This passage in the Book of Acts is NOT an endorsement for socialism, nor was it ever meant to be interpreted that way. Yet there are millions of seminary students who are being taught that is is, and the pernicious doctrine goes all the way up the ladder. It's really a shame!
