Our own first amendment protects this religion. Tough to fight something while protecting it at the same time.
The “free exercise of religion” needs to be revised.
The Japanese worshipped their emperor and attacked us on behalf of him in what to them was a holy war, and still we were able to see that it was a question of war and our security, not freedom of religion.
