Psalm 31

We love the LORD, we His godly ones! Thank You that You preserve the faithful and fully repay the self-righteousness of the arrogant. We proclaim You as the Champion of our Salvation, our Refuge, our Avenger, our Helper and the One who keeps us safe.

We pray today for every loyal member of our Armed Forces assigned by You to defend us. We pray from Psalm 31:

In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots and conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter (pavilion) from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be the LORD, for He has shown His marvelous favor and lovingkindness to [each one] when he is assailed in a besieged city. While he might say in his alarm, I am cut off from Your eyes. Nevertheless You hear the voice of our supplications (specific requests) as we cry to You on behalf of each one to You for help.

We trust You, Sir, to give us leaders and judges who will defend and protect our Constitution. Our trust is in You and not in any person. Lead each one of Your people to vote as You direct and, we plead, get them to the voting booth.

We choose to be strong and let our hearts take courage, we who wait for and confidently expect the LORD. In Jesus' name. Amen.
