Egypt's embattled Coptic community on Monday, February 15, marked the one year since video surfaced of the murder of 21 Coptic Orthodox Christians on a beach in Libya. The men were marched in orange suits across the beach, forced to kneel and then were beheaded by Islamic State group militants.
The Christians, who went to Libya as construction workers to support their families, were seen saying their last prayers. As the blade came to their neck they all cried in unison "Ya Rabbi Yasou" or 'O My Lord Jesus', according to a video and Christian experts familiar with the situation.
The caption by the Islamic State group noted that "these insisted to remain in unbelief" and not embrace Islam, BosNewsLife reported at the time.
Among those who died was a man from Chad, who converted to Christianity "because of the faith" he witnessed in the detained Coptic Christians, said priest Rafic Grieche, spokesman for the Catholic Church in Egypt. "He found his faith when he saw the face of the other Egyptian Christians, he didn't want to leave," Grieche said. "He wanted to be a martyr like them."
ATROCITY IMAGES
Coptic church leaders made clear they would never forget the images of the atrocity, while celebrating the memory of their martyrdom this week with prayer meetings, liturgies and reflections, culminating in a solemn liturgy.

Christians living under mussies in the ME are living Revelation right now; just how Revelation says it would be.
Never forget that the assassination of Khaddafi, the jihadi chaos of Libya, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the persecution of Christians there were directly brought into the world by Obama and Clinton.
Our Synod President (LCMS) said the same thing yesterday: watch it here, about three minutes long
I’m of the belief that everything will be happening in the ME since that was the known world when Revelation was written by John. It would be interesting to know what those Christians think who the False Prophet and Anti-Christ persons are.
A good site/organization I’ve found that supports persecuted Christians in the ME is:
I actually am over in the ME right now and carry one of their “Arabic N” wrist bracelets
Put a point on Jerusalem and go out in a radius 700 miles in every direction. The countries in that circle are the only ones mentioned in OT prophetic scripture.
Nothing about America.
Ping for later.
Is your name in Arabic on it then? What are you doing there? Missionary work?
We never realized that these brutal (and rather secular) dictators were actually better than the even worse religious factions they were controlling.
The bracelet is a generic one that has the arabic letter for “N” to indicate Nazarene which is how Christians are often depicted over here. The money raised by the bracelet sales goes directly to Aid to the Church in Need which does some great work here (my opinion). As for why I am here, I’m working a temp assignment for a few months on the aerospace side.
So is it relatively safe there? I was on a tour once and visited several cities in Turkey Ephesus being one of them, stood in the same spot that Paul did at the Temple of Artemus/Diana. Really felt some closeness to the apostle.
Libya was occupied by Italy in those days. The only real contribution that Italy made was the SILK SCARVES that Gaddafi wore, even with his uniform. Very spiffy.
I bet he didn't look so good after the rebels got a hold of him.
My father was in north Africa. WHAT a pit-hole.
Yes, relatively safe. In today’s world that’s about as good as it gets.
I try to wear something orange on Fridays. Shirt, hat, etc.
