> “Well then youâre one of the ones who have given up on your freedom.”
What a joker you are! Everyone that knows a little about my posting history knows that I never give up.
I was trying to raise your awareness that your statements are viewed as archaic by those in positions of political connections and offices.
Once you are able to realize how your statements are viewed, then you will have a greater understanding of the larger problem. Then, you should study my tagline to see where the path lies to restore the United States as a country where your views are respected.
If you haven’t given up on political freedom, then you wouldn’t say things like we are living in the “post-Constitutional era” and that state sovereignty is “archaic”.
The Constitution is our only legal bulwark of political freedom against the tyranny of the federal government and state sovereignty and local governance is a key cornerstone of that political freedom.
No. It’s time for Christians to stop voting for judicial supremacists, and start sending representatives who will impeach and remove judicial usurpers post haste.
The title of this thread could have been uttered by either side.
That would be a much better path for our nation.
Ha! I thought of that as well!
If you really meant to fight you would take the ultimate step. Everything else is just talk.
>>> So if you happen to live in a conservative state then gay marriage is wrong, but if you happen to live in a liberal state then by the waving of a magic wand (a very sparkly one at that!) gay marriage is OK. <<<
Do not confuse legal/illegal with morally right/wrong. There is a lot of morally reprehensible behavior that is legal in a free country.
One tactic of liberals is to argue that, because something is legal, it must therefore be held up as moral. It is incumbent on conservatives to acknowledge that, just because something is legal, it doesn’t make it moral.
Unfortunately because of the recent Supreme Court decisions, owners of businesses that cater to weddings are now being given the bad choice of either giving up their business or being forced to supply gay weddings.
If people were allowed to completely disassociate themselves and their businesses from gay weddings, then I think a lot of conservatives would say that was a good compromise. Let them have their fake gay weddings, and let the government give them the same tax breaks as people who are really married, but don't force me to be a part of that nonsense.
But that's not the case. Many business owners are having to choose between doing what makes sense financially and what makes sense morally. Lots are just hoping that a gay couple just happens to never show up at their door, but that's not much of a plan.
You make good points regarding govt. coercion. At that point, the moral citizen no longer has a good choice, when being moral is illegal.
