Some of the Christians who have already been martyred in the Middle East belonged to churches that were in union with Rome.

That Mr. Day sounds so evil, I couldn't finish the article. I hope the pope isn't going to promote what he is. How did the article get to be about the two? Plus you have to consider that reporting what the pope said, going through a translation, leaves room for error.

As to change, we have already accepted that slavery is wrong. But that was never an article of faith, but an accepted societal custom involving civil laws.

I just want to believe what has always been believed since the beginning, before the first Council, most of which seems to have gotten incorporated within the church, but some things were added.

It is a grave matter to criticize the pope I should think. But JPII who may be a saint already, haven't kept up with it, got a little cozy with infidel religions. Being kind to them and talking to them is one thing, but mixing worship and religious practices, no, not even to appear to be "tolerant" or "accepting".

Salvation is an individual thing. YHWH (The Lord) knows what is in you heart. If you confess with you mouth that Yahshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) is Elohim (God), and believe in you heart that He was raised from the dead, then you will be saved.

It doesn’t matter if the assembly (church) you attended was full of Babylonian idolatry, Yahshua said that would happen. He also said is will get worse before it gets better with His second coming. Hold fast! Look up! Your redemption draws neigh!
