Allah was a late comer to the pagan name party, and when Mohammad, or whomever constructed Islamic history, there was a male, female pluralism of the godhead. ...I’ve read some good studies on why Allah is not El, and they can be found on the internet. I think the symbolism of mythology/paganism is the better way to approach who Allah is in the scheme of things. You will find Islam referred to in Revelations under the title Mystery Babylon. Think of the god of Babylon for the identity of Allah.
