Interesting, I never knew about the Scientology connection. Makes sense though, they got in big trouble with another person who died after being basically kept in solitary confinement for weeks at their Clearwater HQ. It was found that, even when they finally took her to the hospital, they drove several towns over to take her to a hospital where a Scientologist was an admitting doctor, so they could still retain some control.
They totally controlled the hospital where Terri Schiavo died - along with controlling the mayor, the judiciary, the local police and the sheriff’s dept. Gov. Bush was going to order the state police in to rescue her but the sheriff said he would resist with force. The complicit bishop, the horrible Bishop Lynch, a gay oriented lefty who had had to settle (male on male) sexual harassment suit filed against him by one of his employees had left the country, even though a bishop is not supposed to be out of his diocese at Easter.
So there was no appeal. Bush did not want a shoot out so he called off the state police. I was there at the hospital and saw it all, but this is never reported. It was horrible - and it was all about Scientology..
