And now Donohue has joined the bishops in approving of mortal sin!
In 2004, the bishops adopted “Catholics in Political Life,” in which they said that a bishop may “legitimately” give Communion to a pro-abortion politician.
There’s a teeny-tiny problem with this: It’s always a mortal sin to give Communion to a pro-abortion politician. Reason: It’s always grave scandal. It always demonstrates to the faithful that the minister of Communion approves of abortion.
This is precisely the same reason that the Church has always denied Communion to public sinners. Giving Communion to a person who is notorious for committing sin X leads the faithful to believe that the Church approves of sin X.
This is part of the crisis the Church is experiencing: The majority of bishops are moral degenerates, whose consciences are so dead they do not even recognize when they are endorsing mortal sin in one of their official documents!
Quite the little scam Donohue’s got going. Shocking and appalling that the little turd gets that much money just for gnashing his teeth and wailing on shows like Bill O’Reilly.
