Compassion? We send these people billions in aid and support. But if we don’t let the wolves into the hen house we are being uncompassionate? We have neighbors right here who need compassion and support. Veterans we made promises to. Homeless. It seems to me Christ called us to love our neighbors first not go all the way to the other side of world seeking unknown people to help while ignoring our own brothers and sisters.
There is only ONE question you have to ask yourself about federal action and it isn’t “Is it compassionate?” The question is, “IS IT CONSTITUTIONAL?”
Well, there is NO constitutional mandate for the feds to be “compassionate.” More often than not, acts of federal “compassion” are unconstitutional federal acts, as this one is, which by definition are acts of tyranny. This refusal to stop the invasion of this clear and present danger is an unconstitutional federal act of tyranny. Nobody needs compassionate tyranny.
Leave compassion to individuals and local governments, NOT to the feds.
Social liberals of various intensities are found frequently in evangelical academia, including SBC colleges and seminaries, but the SBC itself is not controlled by them. Fortunately the SBC is not structured that way. If anything, the pulpit and the pew have been getting more conservative overall during the last 30 years or so.
If you use Twitter, you might want to comment on his account. I just did and there were others who had commented negatively.
He’s one of the main reasons I believe the SBC has been infiltrated with commies masquerading as “communitarians”.
I loathe Russell Moore and his kumbaya attitude.
I don’t agree with Dr. Moore, but your comment is silly and unhinged. I have actually met Russell Moore a few times. I had a conversation with him as recently as February of this year and over the past fifteen years I have heard him preach a number of times. He’s not corrupt and he hasn’t been caught in bed with anyone. He’s not a radical liberal either, but he certainly has some liberal ideas I disagree with. I believe he holds some political positions inconsistent with his core theology. He often says and does things that make me uncomfortable. For instance, he’s willing to hold hands and cooperate with Rome and he has even been invited to the Vatican, which I consider an abomination for any Southern Baptist. Like too many Christians who are part of academic settings or in political positions, he’s also too politically correct. I’m the end I don’t think Dr. Moore is right for his job AT ALL, but he’s not a bad man. He’s a Christian brother who is simply wrong.
By the way, he used to work for Congressman Gene Taylor, a Blue Democrat from Southern Mississippi.
You and others differ as with me, then. You’ve met him and spoken with him. Okay. That doesn’t make him God.
The very fact he “often says and does things that make you uncomfortable” should give you a clue. I could retort and say your thoughts are “silly and unhinged.”
Lastly, working for a Democrat Congressman of any hue isn’t a resume enhancer in my book.
“Heâs not a radical liberal either, but he certainly has some liberal ideas I disagree with. I believe he holds some political positions inconsistent with his core theology. He often says and does things that make me uncomfortable. For instance, heâs willing to hold hands and cooperate with Rome and he has even been invited to the Vatican, which I consider an abomination for any Southern Baptist.”
You’ve perfectly described somebody who acts like a 5th column.
Quote:
“Heâs a Christian brother who is simply wrong.”
Is that the excuse given for the slaughtered victims of an Islamic terror attack on Americans on American soil?
Is that the excuse given over the bankruptcy of America due to billions of dollars of welfare money we don’t have spent on non-citizens?
Being “simply wrong,” like flying a commercial airliner into a mountain because of a navigational error, can have drastic consequences.
Why Russell Mooreâs Race Fixation Sits Uneasy With Some

Southern Baptists Embrace Gay Community?
http://www.worldviewweekend.com/news/article/southern-baptists-embrace-gay-community
Yup.
Typical. You give and give and give, for decades, without so much as a thank you, then as soon as you need to take a break, you “lack compassion”.
My gaydar just exploded.
How is the SBC and Moore addressing these problems? They are busy working on racial reconciliation and hosting conferences to apologize for slavery. SBC formally apologized in 1995, yet Moore is hosting conferences to dig up the past. Not seeing the leadership and vision for the future here.
Hmmm....
The anti-Refugee blanket looks a lot like the anti-Immigrant blanket.
Because we want some careful scrutiny of the refugees, to protect against terrorist infiltration, we’re somehow hateful and bigoted.
“...and he has even been invited to the Vatican, which I consider an abomination for any Southern Baptist.”
Explain the `abominable part’ to this Romish Papist, please.
Dominus vobiscum, y’all.
