Amazing how the Left will invoke Jesus’ name, when it suits their purposes, yet will deny His deity.
Like the rest of us, they are hypocrites, though of a much higher magnitude.
A quick question of Ms. Boorstein:
Since you choose to invoke the name of Jesus in your argument, try a review of what He says about the murder of pre-born babies!
To: SeekAndFind
Typical dumbass question by a leftist who sees Jesus as a “community organizer”.

Just love it when anti-Christians pose the ever popular WWJD question. How about:
Would Jesus marry two men?
Would Jesus abort a baby?
Would Jesus sell organs from aborted babies?
Would Jesus cut off non-believers’ heads?
Would Jesus stone adulteresses?
So many possibilities.

If Jesus DID take in Syrian refugees it would NOT be out of hatred for white people or to glean votes.
To: SeekAndFind
I don’t recall Jesus abiding cowardice in any way shape or form.
As the US slowly spirals toward the same hell-hole status as the middle east, how many Americans will seek refuge elsewhere? Thousands? Millions? Where will we go?
If we are Judeo-Christian, we will stand fast in our faith and triumph therein, even if we should perish.
That’s one hell of a lot more than can be said for these so-called “refugees”.

Despite the dumb title, I decided to read the whole thing. She’s right there IS a disagreement within the Christian community about embracing Syrian Muslims. If she’d actually done some footwork rather than a few internet searches and a phone call or two, she could have written a meaningful article. As it is, she mailed it in.

And even that, I call that into question, the Muslim respect of Jesus as a prophet considering how horrible the Muslims treat Christians.

I think miss Boorstein is probably just another self hating Jew, looking at things through her liberal educated mindset.
Let her invite a few muslims to live at her house. She probably would not continue to be a self hating Jew after a week or so. There would be some sort of change, most likely.

Why should we take thousands of suffering Christians into our country? What are we, the land of the free or something? What do WE need with more Christians, especially those who are downtrodden and frightened because of their faith?
Sarcasm intended.

I guess the 1 billion+ Hindus are doomed to hell too, as are the 1 billion+ Chinese and other Asians. Are all of those millions of Africans doomed too? Is heaven just for us Christians?
Is there any chance for any them to get to heaven? Will not Christ find a way to them? I don't know, of course, I'm just posing questions.

Jesus wouldn't have whipcords BIG enough for those sinners.
By the by, most Saudis marry cousins, so there are MANY deformed babies there. Close intermarriage does that, as you know. But, Saudis (I don't know about other Arabs.) don't believe in abortion either. They love their babies, no matter what kind of deformity babies have. They rear them as one of the family, loved and cared for.

Wait a minute. How could Jesus take any refugees in? He has no place to take them in as we are constantly told by liberals that “Jesus was homeless”. Their logic has circled back on them again.

The message of Jesus Christ was one which was primarily addressed to individuals, not nations. Jesus also counseled us to be “gentle as doves, but wise as serpents.” How many people who you did not know, would you just invite in off the street to live with you and and your children; perhaps putting your family in harms way. Would Jesus wish you you to take in such folks who may enter as an effort to “steal, kill, and destroy,” which Jesus said the devil come to do? One would do well to consider the fact that the devil may be in the details, and a nation would do well to possess the same attitude. With regard to Government, the Bible indicates that Human Government is ordained of God to protect its citizens, not place them in harms way by acts of foolishness and lawlessness.

I reiterate: Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, NO one cometh unto the Father except by Me".
Buddha did not die on the cross for the sins of mankind, nor did Mohammed, nor did any other religious figure. Only Jesus. In addition, He said:
"If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father" and
"The Father and I are One"
That pretty much narrows it down. And in Matthew 28, it clearly states:
Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth ... go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"
It isn't up to me to say whether or not 'Heaven is only for Christians', although I certainly lean in that direction. Jesus however is the sole arbiter of who does, and does not, enter into His Father's Kingdom. HE and He alone knows the contents and motives of the human heart, only He can discern what is within us, so based upon His Word, He will make the determination for each and every human soul, bar none as to whether or not they will hear the words "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of They Lord", or "Depart from me, ye accursed, into the fire prepared for the devil and his angels". It is as simple as that.
Is there any chance for any them to get to heaven? Will not Christ find a way to them? I don't know, of course, I'm just posing questions.
Matthew 7:13 says "... strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it."
I can't answer that question, however I can say that Almighty God already has it worked out, and His perfect Will is going to be manifested over and above any human plan or perception. The most important thing that one can do today, is to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and believe in Him, for it is written in Romans 10:13 that "For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved."
Only through Jesus Christ can one find the one path of Salvation. The Apostle Paul said in Galatians: "if anyone should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached [i.e., Jesus Christ], let him be accursed"
I hope this helps.
