Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, the chairman of United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty, called for prayer as the Supreme Court agreed to decide whether religious nonprofits should be forced to comply with the HHS mandate.
"Charitable ministries across the nation simply want to provide life-affirming health care for their employees, without fear of massive government penalties," said Archbishop Lori. "At stake is nothing less than their freedom to serve others. Let us pray for justice for those who offer mercy."

Given the SCOTUS’s recent penchant for finding in favor of a law due to its potential consequences and not its legality, I agree that prayer, intersession of a passle of saints and every other spiritual leverage that can be brought to bear needs to happen.
I THINK they will find for the Little Sisters after the Hobby Lobby decision. But then I had thought they would have found the entire law unconstitutional and THAT certainly didn’t happen.
“For years, we have prayed that the federal government would not force those who serve the needy — such as the Little Sisters of the Poor — to fund or facilitate coverage for drugs and devices that violate their religious convictions,” he added. “[A]s the matter moves to the Supreme Court, we renew our prayer that this basic freedom will prevail.”
Isn’t it just great to live in a country where just one un-elected black robed ‘judge’ can write any law he or she imagines to be good for the masses ? Sherlock Holmes couldn’t find the justifications in the Constitution that these life time tenured elites root out with impunity.
“It’s penumbra, Watson!”
Not exactly what the Founding Fathers had in mind as a replacement for the "Divine Right of Kings".
The American Church has been supportive of Progressive state power for nearly a century. The state has finally achieved their goal of burdening the American citizen with the oppressive yoke of government mandated health insurance, complete with government mandated birth control and abortion, and the bishops say, “No, that yoke was not meant for us, just for everyone else.”
