I certainly hope his son Franklin is the real deal. I think Samaritans Purse is a worthwhile organization.

My husband researched charities before participating in our church’s Samaritan Purse Christmas Shoebox program. IIRC, Samaritan’s Purse was the #1 organization as far as honesty, lowest overhead, percentage of donations being received by the needy, etc.
I think Franklin surpassed his father years ago when it comes to Christian principles. If you can find it, read his autobiography, “Rebel With A Cause”. Excellent but not in print as far as I know.
