Do we have a heretical Pope? Is he really the Pope? Is he a stand in for Benedict to bring some tings out into the open that need to be properly shut down and not left in the German shadows?

A question for you on Divorce, annulment, remarriage and the children of the 2nd marriage. If a woman is given an annulment of her marriage after divorcing her husband who repeatedly beat her, then remarried and the two of them had and raised their children as Catholic, are the children considered to be legitimate or as illegitimate?

I’m asking because a young woman was recently called out by her mid-30s parish priest, in his homily, as “a bastard child of a divorced Catholic.”

Simple answer: This is Satan’s time.

They are legitimate children.

An annulment just deals with the validity of the marriage as recognized by the church. It has nothing to do with the children.

Is it possible that there are Catholics who are divorced and not remarried? Those who didn’t instigate the civil divorce are free from its sin, as well any sin that would be associated with remarriage without an annulment.

I find this type of reporting sensational, inaccurate, and in bad faith.

>>Divorce and remarriage: the only unforgivable sin.<<

Have you ever read that bible of yours?

My opinion, stealing the innocence of a child by a priest should be an unforgivable sin, but only blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin.

That same sexual predator often breeds dysfunctional lives of the victims. This includes serial marriages/divorce, trust issues, anger, substance abuse, depression...you name it.

Funny though, the priest can be shuffled away, attend counseling, reintroduced into another parish....forgiven! The young victim grows up into adulthood with all sorts of dysfunction....to then be shunned by his/her own church later in life.

WOW!

What is the name of the priest you heard say this?

I do not have the name, only the report from the young lady in question. He did not use her name but said that those who met this standard “were bastards.” And as it is and may be was, her home parish, everyone knew it was her he was talking about.

That priest is ignorant. The 1983 Code of Canon Law places no restrictions on children born to unmarried parents. A child is a child, no matter that state of their parents.

I find it amazing that a priest would not only go into such detail about a complicated marital situation, not only go into intricate detail about a complicated marital situation concerning an identifiable parishioner, but go into intricate detail about a complicated marital situation concerning an identifiable parishioner and use the word, "bastard".

I myself have personally heard more than 3000 homilies, and I cannot recall a single incident where a priest uttered the word, "divorce".

I'm thinking the incident you describe might qualify for inclusion in Ripley's Believe it or Not!

in respect to the young lady and to my Catholic friends, I will not provide that information for those who might use it for purposes of attack.

Really, the only question is, did the woman make up the story, or did you make up the woman?
