Had the situations been reversed, and Latvians needed refuge, would they be accepted in the mid east? What Europe and their neighbors don’t see is that they are receiving cancer cells that will eventually destroy their culture. We all love our fellow man but we can not take on the responsibility of caring for all of them. Man is destroying the world by over populating it, and its going to get really nasty eventually. Everyone is going to want to survive.

Actually, man is not destroying the world by "overpopulating". The habitable parts of the world are actually quite thinly populated, and the patches of misery are generally caused by stupid or brutal state-level policies that impede normal creativity/productivity or destroy vast amounts of wealth, such as government-run command economies, and war.

Thriving or failing has almost nothing to do with population numbers or density per se.

We've seen that historically in comparing failed vs thriving societies which should have been fairly similar except for their form of government:

• Zimbabwe vs (formerly)Rhodesia;
• Venezuela vs Costa Rica;
• Argentina vs. Chile
• N. Korea vs S. Korea
• former E. Germany vs former W. Germany;
• Haiti vs Dominican Republic.
