Dear Friends in Jesus and Mary,

Greetings from Mumbai, India.

There is a great connection between the "Holy Eucharist" and the Divine Mercy Image.

The Divine Mercy Image - Jesus, I trust in you with its red and blue rays showcases "Our Eucharistic Saviour" whose "Merciful Heart" has been pierced by the Roman Spear and now gushes forth "Sacred Blood" and "Sacred Water" as a font of mercy for us.

It is the "Divine Image" of the Heavenly Father's Gift of Mercy to us poor sinners which is present in every "Holy Sacrifice of the Mass".

This concept of the Eucharist as a fountain of grace and mercy is not only found in the "Divine Mercy Diary" but also in Church Teaching. The Church clearly teaches that all the other sacraments are directed towards the "Holy Eucharist" and draw their power from it.

Yet nowhere in the life of the church in the NT, interpretive of the gospels, is the Lord's Supper presented as an on going sacrifice for sin, the offering of which being a primary function of NT clergy (wrongly ) distinctively titled "priests," this being the "source and summit of the Christian faith," in which "the work our redemption is accomplished," and the consuming of which by believers is critical in order to obtain spiritual life.

In fact, nowhere in Scripture is spiritual life obtained by eating anything physically. Only the metaphorical view is fully and easily compatible with the rest of Scripture.

Instead, the Lord's Supper is only manifestly described in one book of the life of the church, where in Cor. 10 and 11 it teaches the unity of the body Christ as being shown by taking part in that supper, declaring the Lord's death by sharing food with others who were part of that body which was bought by the sinless shed blood of the Lord. (cf. Acts 20:32). Which body 1Cor. 11 teaches they were not recognizing by eating independently and taking their fill, and shaming those who have not.

By this greatest miracle of his love, Jesus Christ remains with us under the form of bread and wine, not only for our spiritual nourishment, but to be kept company by us as well.

We appreciate that Jesus continues the miracles that show His love for us by giving us His Body and Blood in the Eucharist.

May we return that love to Him and our neighbor.
