To: Salvation

Anyone who believes that men can control the climate through government intervention does not believe in the sovereignty of God.

Isa 29: 6 Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

Isa 30: 30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones

Isa 50: 2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

Ezek 13: 13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

Ezek 38: 22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Jer 23: 19 Behold, a whirlwind (tornado) of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.

Jer 10: 13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Jer 51: 16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Amos 1: 14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

(these verses in Amos show that God controls the weather even down to the smallest detail- Daniel)
Amos 4:7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. 4:8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. 4:9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. 4:10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. 4:11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. 4:12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. 4:13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.

Nahum 1: 3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

Zech 9: 14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

2 Sam 22: 7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Psalm 107: 24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Psalm 11: 5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

Psalm 18: 11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.
14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

Psalm 135: 6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Psalm 148: 7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

Psalm 83: 13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

Psalm 29: 10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.

Psalm 144: 5 Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

Psalm 77: 16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18 The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

Psalm 97: 1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

(here again in Job we see God’s control over the weather even to the smallest detail in view- Daniel)

Job 36: 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

Job 37: 5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
(this 13th verse is key to understanding- Daniel)

Job 38: 1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

Job 28: 23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Mark 4: 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Wildfires

Ezek 20: 47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
48 And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

Ezek 15: 7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.

Jer 21: 14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

Jer 50: 31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.
32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

Hosea 8: 14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Volcanoes

Isa 64: 1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

Nathan 1: 5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Micah 1: 3 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.

Earthquakes

Ezek 38: 19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

Mt 27: 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Mt 28: 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

Acts 16: 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

In Philadelphia the address of Pope Francis centered on freedom, but in Cuba Francis showed his hypocrisy and lack of morals when not a single time pronounced the words liberty or freedom. In Cuba we saw the real Pope Bergoglio. While the Pope brags to be the voice of the poor and the oppressed in Cuba he was the voice of the oppressors. Francis beg for a meeting with Fidel Castro with was described by the Vatican as very friendly and familiar while he did not accept to receive a representation of the pacific dissidents of the Stalinist regime who are the true voice of the enslaved Cuban people. At the end of the meeting with Castro the Pope expressed his deep appreciation for the genocide of the Cuban people who after 56 years make a country that had the higher standard of living in Latin America in 1959 to the poorest and most oppressed in the history of this hemisphere.

The pope does not speak for me. The pope can shove his godless socialism! See tagline.

Of course he doesn't.

In all the years I've been Catholic, I never learned that the Pope, or any priest or nun spoke for me. A pope is merely the vicar, the successor of St. Peter, the shepherd who continues to guide us along the path that Jesus took and wanted us to take.

That's how I learned it.

A Congressman or POTUS doesn't speak for me either.

Even an attorney doesn't speak for me. S/he pursues a legal cause for me but doesn't speak for me.

Guide us to socialism? How’d that work out for Cuba? Venezuela?

Are you saying the pope does not advocate for socialism, open borders and climate change? I’d like to believe that he doesn’t.

The Pope advocates but he has no authority to DO anything.

He also advocates for an end to abortion. He advocates for an end to hunger, human trafficking, war, social injustice, poverty and the rest of the human ills that he knows exist.

I do think that for all he advocates he knows human nature. Nothing wrong with advocating the straight and narrow. It IS his job.

Are you watching the media and the dims? They’re in orgasmic ecstasy over the pope’s socialist message. They don’t normally agree with a pope’s message, but when they do, we’ll never hear the end of it.

100% failure, in my opinion.

The systems themselves may or may not be good. Almost ANY system will work when the politicians, bureaucrats, government and general public are honest. The flaws don't NECESSARILY lie in the system, I think, but in the frailty of human behavior.

Maybe I'm wrong but the evil usually lies within the human hearts, not they systems of government they live under.

I'm sorry to say that I stopped watching the babbling of our media and the dims a long time ago.
Let them enjoy their oh-so-brief moment of agreement with Pope Francis. As soon as he mentions an END to abortion they will restart their attacks on him.

Besides, you and I both know that our country is so socialist now that I can't believe it will ever be any other way, even if we get another Ronald Reagan. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic.

The Republicans, I think, are where the dims were forty years ago. I don't see things going anywhere else but downhill.

What do you think of Trump? I don't listen to him either, but he IS a new voice.

Yes, I do. I used to send you $$ occasionally for it too.

Now, though, I am still reeling from the effects of family loss and can't do much in the way of thinking.

You've been fighting the good fight (Now where have I heard that before?) for many moons. It's a righteous fight, that is for sure.

One of the slogans I used to like was: the last four letters of the word AMERICAN are "I CAN." That is the hallmark of our independence, not the hand held out waiting for the gubmin hand-out.

The Pope advocates but he has no authority to DO anything.

As a Catholic I well understand the Church, the Deposit of Faith, and unchanging Church teaching. There are cut and dry moral issues of certainty premised upon self-evident truth and revealed by God that are black or white, right or wrong, good or evil. There are also moral issues that are individually determined using prudential judgement and a well formed conscience. Prudential judgements are in so many words, personal opinions.

The problems I see with the Pope is that he seems to gloss over the moral issues of certainty in essence giving them a backseat while at the same time giving his opinion on matters of prudential judgement center stage.

As an example I cite the death penalty. The Church teaches, has always taught and will always teach that the death penalty is legitimate. I know this. I know the Pope knows this and I know the Pope does not change Church teaching; however, his opinion, his statement about seeking to abolish the death penalty around the world is seen by the ignorant as moral Church teaching and those opposed to the death penalty as an opportunity to exploit and use the Church to promote an agenda that denies those the freedom of choosing for themselves whether to support or oppose the death penalty and under what requirements and restrictions the death penalty is administered.

Issue like abortion, homosexual sex, adultery and marriage are issues of universal moral certainty, not subject to prudential judgement. These seem to be the issues the Pope glosses over.

Issues like climate change, feeding the poor, taking in the homeless and displaced, social justice, wealth distribution and the death penalty are issues of individual prudential judgement, matters of opinion. These seem to be the issues the Pope places great emphasis on.

When comparing and contrasting the issues of moral certainty versus the issues of prudential judgement it is self evident that they are quite different. One can also conclude that to effectively proclaim Church teaching requires more than voicing individual opinions on issues of prudential judgement.

The Pope delivers an incomplete message.

“The pope came to America to advocate for open borders, climate change and socialism. No thanks.”

I was going to answer your comment quickly, but had to leave to go to Mass as I go on Saturday. In response to your above comment:

The Pope speaks about, advocates for, the world to be as it would be if all people were believers, living by the Golden Rule. He wants the best of mankind to come about and has hope for the world and speaks as if it is obtainable. That is his message to America and the world.

Realistically, world peace may never happen, but we still pray for peace on earth in every church service.

Socialism:
I'm not sure what you mean by this concerning the Pope, but perhaps you remember as I do, that years ago, before the govn. started their social programs of welfare, it was the churches across the nation who cared for poor people. As the govn. started various types of welfare, many churches mostly dropped their service to the poor. The Catholic church never stopped administering to the poor.

My husband was in a Catholic hospital before he died. When he died, I asked for no flowers but to send money to the food program for the poor the Nuns who ran that hospital, had. I created a problem for the Nuns as to how to handle the money as no one had ever had money sent to that program.

The Catholic church I now go to, also has a food program for the poor. If that is socialism, I approve of that socialism.

The Pope is speaking right now about families. He said God created families in creation. He just said family needs to take care of their children and parents and grandparents. He says, “Don't let the day end without peace in the family. Protect the family as that is where our future is.” If that happened, fewer government programs would be needed. If that is Catholic socialism for families to take care of their family members, the young and the old, I approve of that socialism.

I hope you will receive this message with the kindness I have sent it to you.
