Rivkah Would not Bow to Francis : How does Francis Respond?

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin paid a visit to Pope Francis in Rome, accompanied by his personal secretary Rivkah – an Orthodox-Jewish woman. When a person usually greets the pope, they shake his hand and bow down. But when Rivkah’s turn came to greet the pope, she explained to him that for religious reasons she could not shake his hand, nor could she bow down since he was wearing a cross. The pope then covered his cross with his hand, and bowed down to her!

That problem is solved if you bow to no one but Jesus. At His name every knee will bow.

Leadership with principles and manners! Obama needs a few “coaching sessions” with the Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

How would a real Catholic pope respond?

Hint: not this way.

The pope showed obeisance and submitted to a rude woman
He should have inclined his head slightly and moved on

He has no standing to cover the cross and bow to a nonChristian on behalf of any church I want him to represent!

What a wanker

Does he have a mommy complex?
Btw he is not a humble man - to cover the cross was an act of personal arrogance

What should he have done? He didn’t tear the cross off and step on it, he took the cross in his hand and held it.

This is not the first time he has hidden his crucifix in front of Jews.

Seriously? You see NOTHING wrong with this? How about not denying our Lord and covering the cross and not bowing? That would actually send the message to the Jew that he will not capitulate his faith for her false Christ-denying religion.

But you see, that wouldn’t be in keeping with Vatican II false ecumenism, the New “Catholic” Religion.

Will he wear his Marxist crucifix to the White House ? Will he cover it in front of the UN?

I’m sorry, I wouldn’t bow either. As an evangelical Christian, I could not bow down to the leader of any church.

When I was younger, I actually wondered more about that. I had a second cousin, who I’d only met once or twice. He was a Catholic bishop who’s name had been kicked around pretty heavily as in contention for the first American pope. I figured if he was, my parents would have dragged me to some ceremony or another and I’d be faced with that problem.

The first Pope Peter also denied the Lord, 3 times

Then wept

Hiding the crucifix is not what the Christian world deserves from a Pope

A few years ago St. Mary’s Church, Minneapolis, I had a group of Buddhist monks visit there and hold a ceremony. Then St. Mary’s covered up all the Christian images for the monk’s visit!

Why is it that the West has become so apologetic for itself?

This is not about the proud and rude Rivkah who was there as a diplomat but would not shake hands

Seriously lady, get a new post or get over yourself

It was about the pope hiding his cross and bowing to her

Abject obeisance, not humility

You know what? My issue isn’t that she didn’t bow. My issue is totally with this so-called Catholic pope.

Rivkah was stating her faith. The Pope was stating the depth of his, so called.

Why did this broad even show up for an audience with the Pope? What world are we living in now where some idiot shows up at a state event to meet a world leader just to say she can’t shake his hand or give a customary greeting? Why not just skip the meeting entirely?

It appears many have totally missed the point.
