Heavenly Father –

Though the news may show us all that is evil in the world, we thank You, Lord, for the Good News - that You are Sovereign and in control of the nations and all our affairs. We are grateful and blessed that Your Providence brought our nation into existence and enabled the Gospel to be proclaimed in our land as well as the world.

We confess our sins against You that we do not glorify Your marvelous works and see Your hand in history. We confess that we have fallen away from Your Word. And in its place has rushed in ignorance and darkness, but we are so blind that we no longer see our need for You. May we repent and turn to You for our salvation.

We pray for all those who willingly go into harm’s way to defend us. Protect them from attack on all fronts. And through the power of Your Spirit, may America will be great again.
