Homosexual Marriage vs. Public Servant Ministers of God.
Vanity

No legitimate statute or court decision can violate God’s Law, regardless if the matter is within or without government. In a country once hailed for its respect of Natural Rights, a judge prepares to possibly fine or imprison a KY county clerk who refuses to provide marriage licenses to homosexuals. Others face sanctions for refusing to bake specialty cakes for homosexual weddings.

The following is adapted from an Enlightenment writer and republican martyr, Algernon Sidney, who brought the Scriptural term, “Minister of God,” and its importance to my attention. Various historians have described the writings of Sidney in his circa 1680 Discourses on Government, as the textbook of the American Revolution.

For me, it helped cement the relationship between our Constitution and the superior Law of God.

Sidney: Inasmuch as God from the beginning ordained that man should form civil societies, the people who appoint public servants may proportion, regulate and terminate them as the people see fit, which reason dictates can only be for their own good. As societies create such public servants and frame such laws as should seem most conducing to their happiness, every Magistracy so instituted might be rightly called the Ordinance of Man who was the instituter, and the Ordinance of God according to which it was instituted.

Ministers of God. The Apostle Peter said, “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake.” Yes, submit to the Ministers of God. He therefore and he only, is the servant of God, who does the Work of God, who is a terror to those who do evil. “That Rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. For he is the minister of God unto thee for good.”

Peter wasn’t the first to show the appropriate and Godly work of all public servants everywhere and for all time to be the same, to do justice and procure the welfare of those who created them. Plato, Aristotle, Cicero and all the best human authors set it as an unmovable foundation upon which to build their arguments.

Ministers of the Devil. If the Christian defines the magistrate to be the Minister of God doing justice, and from thence draws the reasons he gives for rendering obedience to him, we are to inquire whose Minister he is who overthrows it, and look for some other reason for rendering obedience to him than the words of the Apostles.

The same rule which obliges us to yield obedience to the good Magistrate who is the Minister of God, and assures us that in obeying him we obey God, does equally oblige us not to obey those who make themselves the Ministers of the Devil lest in obeying them we obey the Devil whose works they do.

The nearer public servants come to a power that is not easily restrained by law, the more passionately they desire to abolish all who oppose. Hearts filled with such fury welcome like-minded men to be their assistants and enablers.

He has not searched into the nature of man, who thinks that public servants can resist when they are assaulted on all sides. Nothing but the wonderful and immediate power of God’s Spirit can preserve him.

When princes or presidents seek only those who love them and will do as they are told, the appointment of good men is obviously out of the question. Expect only the worst cabinet secretaries and judges. Aren’t Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Lois Lerner nothing but fellow Leftist travelers, and Ministers of the Devil?

Sidney saw such ministers in his day, and wrote, “Whatever they did, they feared no punishment.” Like effects in all times will ever proceed from like causes, and no one from the Obama administration need fear removal from office or prosecution.

Effects. The name of justice cannot be attributed to statutes, regulations and court decisions which produce unspeakable mischiefs and calamities. Those that govern by them cannot be the Ministers of God, and the Apostle commanding our obedience to the Ministers of God for our good, command us not to be obedient to the Minister of the Devil to our hurt; for we cannot serve two Masters .

It is of little importance whether the magistrates to whom Peter enjoins obedience are kings, presidents, or county clerks, for he informs us that by their works, we owe obedience only to those who are Ministers of God. This distinguishes the magistrate to whom all obedience is due from those who deserve no obedience at all.

Ms. Kim just might turn out to be the ‘Rosa Park’ of the true Christian citizenry of America.

The writings describe the mulatto queer, in his wholeness.

Nice. I bookmarked it for the next Freeper who writes, “as a public sevant they can’t bring their religion into it. Just find a new job.”

Yes, thanks.

Most Americans have been browbeaten into submission. There are two powers above government: God and We The People acting in our sovereign capacity. We don't have to accept these outrages.

Scotus has apparently become bored with ignoring the Supreme Law of the land, and has increasingly found pleasure in violating God's Laws.

We need many thousands of Ms. Kims.
