Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Character Studies From The Bible
Jonah
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.
39 He answered, A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here.
(Matthew 12)

Abba, Father,
We Praise and Worship You,
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
As the Nations Rage So Furiously Against You,
And Against Your People,
We Know That You Are Our Shelter,
Our Strength and our Song,
Our Refuge in Times of Trouble,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
This saying of Jesus that is mentioned in two of the four Gospels is quite revealing. Jesus is citing the story of Jonah to illustrate that the Ninevites, who were Gentiles, and particularly wicked, repented at the preaching of the reluctant prophet Jonah. The Pharisees, on the other hand, who studied the Scriptures daily and were meticulous about obeying every aspect of the Law, did not recognize their own need for repentance.
The interesting aspect of this sermon is that the People, the Pharisees, and Jesus ALL knew the Story of Jonah, and believed it was true.
