He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns blackness into dawn and darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land – the LORD is his name – he flashes destruction on the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin. (Amos 5:8-9)

Father God, we thank You for all the good things that You give us.
Lord, we pray for the men and women in our military, that You would be their strength and their hope.
O LORD, You made the Pleiades and the Orion, and every star that shines. You turn blackness into dawn and darken day into night, for the sun turns at Your will. You call for the waters of the sea and pour them out over the face of the land – the LORD is Your Name. You flash destruction on the stronghold and bring the fortified city to ruin; Your judgments are mighty, and Your judgments are just. With You evil cannot dwell, before You the wicked cannot stand, and in You there is no darkness at all. We praise You – our awesome God, holy and mighty – in the Name of Jesus Christ the only Savior, Amen.
