Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Character Studies From The Bible
Elisha
20 Elisha died and was buried.
Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. 21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the mans body into Elishas tomb. When the body touched Elishas bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
(2 Kings 13)

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Elisha, if he were alive, would have been the first to tell you that there was no intrinsic power in his old bones. The LORD was responsible for this miracle, for reasons we can only speculate.
Th Israelites were warned of the Blessings and Curses which depended upon their obedience. One of the curses was that they would constantly be raided and subjugated by the people around them. This seems to be the case here, as these raids took place every Spring. Elisha, alas, was long dead, and no longer there to guide the people. But, by this strange occurrence, God shows the people that the Message is alive, even if Elisha has passed away. Although the hasty dumping of the corpse was indicative of fear, the impossible resurrection of the dead man was indicative of God's continuing Power and Glory.
Notice that the bones of Elisha were not gathered up and used to resurrect other people. This was a one-time miracle for a particular reason, and did not happen again in Scripture.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

This is another fascinating and mysterious story. Yet, it gives hope that our God is alive well after we are dead.
Joining in prayer, left that other site, for Israel, our beloved America, and all God’s people.

Thank you LTOS for today’s message. Once again it is incredible how amazing is the word of God. We must know it and believe it and rest on it, and live it! Thank The LORD for His mercy, grace, loving kindness, love, and for the Scriptures. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
