Some translations of the Didache explictly mention abortion and "exposing their young" (infanticide) as hallmarks of the way of death.

The Didache is a “hard teaching” for Western, individualistic, self aggrandizing culture. One need read no further than your quote to see that.

And yet such teachings, including something as simple as fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays, fasts which we keep to this day, provide us with a means to die to the self, so that we can experience the uncreated energies of God and thus fulfill our created purpose.
