Based on some of your posts it appears you are not Protestant.

If I am correct please respect the Protestant/Evangelical Caucus label and post elsewhere.

Someone coined the term 'osteenism' the other day. Seems so appropriate to the age, when the laodicean urge has this 'feel good' slime to it.

I don't like the term sola scriptura because it 'sounds like' it refers to just written words and regarding meaning of passages as 'every man doing what is right in his own eyes', wher ein reality, reading and studying the Bible is so meaningful and filling for the hungry spirit of man BECAUSE there is The Holy Spirit teaching the born from above THROUGH the manna of scriptures. The scriptures are never 'sola' with the born from above ...

Scripture is the guide.

We certainly receive guidance form the Holy Spirit, but I think the underlying point is people not grounded in Scripture don’t know if it is the Holy Spirit or Satan whispering in their ear.

The Holy Spirit will never guide us to do something Scripture teaches us not to do.
