Very few priests mention abortion in their homilies. We had one that did, and people were furious because, in doing so, he also explained partial birth abortion in detail, and after a few weeks went by, and he discussed artificial means of birth control, as well, they “literally” chased him out of town. People “angrily” followed him following Mass. He was transferred within weeks.
What pro-life peoples can do [and this would apply mainly to Catholics as they understand the grace] is to follow Father John A. Hardon’s advice, and pray before the Blessed Sacrament often, for the end of abortion. The reason abortion is still around, I would imagine, is because not enough people are doing so. http://www.therealpresence.org/archives/Abortion_Euthanasia/Abortion_Euthanasia_003.htm
Back in the late 50s, when many Catholics, even priests began to want assimilation over every other thing, and to enjoy the great wave of prosperity with the rest of the country.
