I absolutely agree. I really don’t understand why he hasn’t already captured the conservative vote. He has been our champion for the last four years.

The more Cruz turns to press religion, the lower his poll numbers will become. Look at Santorum and Huckabee. Nothing against a candidate being religious, but we are electing a president, not a preacher or a specific religion (except NOT Islam).

Because the press strategy for him is to ignore him. They've already tried the "gotcha" numerous times but he's wise to them and makes them look bad...and so ignore him.

The exact opposite is true.

Trump will never gain the presidency precisely because he supports abortion and is not a Christian, and will not fight against the Gay Marriage issue.

Once the base figures these things out during the debates, coupled with Trump's support for Universal Health Care, Trump is toast.

They've already tried that as well and it did not work. I should know it since I am the keeper of the Ted Cruz Ping list. There was a period of time, about 4 weeks in length, that they did their best to ignore him, he broke out of that duldrum and the number of Ted Cruz articles has simply increased to greater and greater numbers since then.

He’s not pressing religion, he is pressing freedom.

Agreed on the freedom thing. Cruz talked about that from the start, as did Judge Scalia in his dissent.

Trump's not a Christian?! Has he ever said he is not a Christian? Is he Jewish? Is he Islamic? Just because he doesn't go to your church, or maybe not even go to a church (I don't know and don't care), or maybe doesn't believe in things quite the way you do doesn't mean he is not a Christian.

BTW, it doesn't take much of a Google search to see that he says he is a Christian, apparently a Presbyterian.

During the Q&A with Luntz during at the Iowa Family Summit, Trumop fumbled the question about whether he has ever asked for forgiveness. Obviously, this “Presbyterian” has never prayed The Lord’s Prayer or even knows what is in it (”Forgive us oour trespasses...”).

If Trump IS a Christian, he’s not much of one. He sounds more like a snake oil salesman to me. Even an 8-yeart-old Sunday School student know The Lord’s Prayer.

By the time the first debate is over, a lot of people who are supporting Trump will realize he’s just another Democrat in a GOP suit who will tell any lie for his own self-aggrandizement.

You clowns show up for every election and pretend to play the moderator only to be first in line to service the biggest liberal in the room.

You need to go back and fix your own party before worrying about the GOP.

I don’t think Trump intends to win. I think he intends to force some issues then drop out.

It all started out as The Little Train That Could and now it has morphed into the Silver Streak. Trump has swerved into the track that no elites ride on and now he sees the truth for what it is. It reminds me of Admiral Farragut when he entered Mobile Bay and discovered it was heavily mined. “Damn the torpedoes, Four bells, Captain Drayton, go ahead. Jouett, full speed.”

This is what the citizens are thirsting for and Trump will ride it as long as he can to obliterate the template of the establishment.

But, I am and have always said that Cruz will obliterate the field once the media has to cover him in the debates.

Besides, Trump can’t stand the pay cut.

Exactly. I don't see him divesting himself of his holdings or control.

He harms Cruz in the short run but in the long run he'll be good for Cruz.

I have a contrary view. Cruz is not harmed at all because when people finally get to hear Cruz, they will see the issues being raised by the Trump megaphone are one in the same.

Remember, Cruz did it the same way when he ran for Senate against the establishment in Texas. I am sure he also learned a great deal from the David Brat victory over Eric Cantor. Trump is proving early that it is not all money, money, money. Instead it is message, message, message.

Brat had the ability to walk the district to get his message out. Cruz has the debates.
