Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen recently said in an interview with NPR that some of his best-selling books are popular in Islamic countries and that some Muslims have even attended Lakewood services. He chalks it all up to Houstons diversity and his weekly messages from the pulpit.
He was asked by Hobson about his views on immigration reform.
Im probably more on the side of mercy than the side of the stricter things, Osteen said.
When it came to attracting those of the Muslim faith, Osteen says that its likely his universal message is attracting not only them but many others.

Muslims have checkbooks too.
How anybody could buy anything this slick huckster pushes is beyond me.
Muslims have checkbooks too.
Uh..did it ever occur to you they might be casing the joint?
I knew the truth would come out eventually.
Everybody knows that Jesus would never talk to NPR. Or to muslims.
Hey Joel! Get a clue. After they decapitate you they’ll turn you dome into a mosque. Better hold a pig roast INSIDE the dome, soon!
Osteen = Snake Oil Salesman
Thanks for posting this.
I’d like to point people to one of the most eye-opening, valuable discussions I’ve ever heard. It is a review of Osteen’s most recent book titled You Can, You Will. Although Osteen’s book provides the basis for discussion, the gifted Pr. Jeremy Rhode turns it into a powerful teaching of true scriptural, Christian theology in contrast to Osteen’s pop cliches.
I cannot stand Osteen but this discussion gave me tremendous sympathy for him. One thing Pr. Rhode says it that Osteen needs a pastor himself. Yes he does, ASAP.
Here is the link for anyone who is interested:
I know I will catch some heat for this, but that is where non-denom and independent churches break down. There is nobody to “pastor the pastor.” (I like the way you put that.)
In a Biblical form of church government there are always people providing oversight and encouragement to pastors.
“In a Biblical form of church government there are always people providing oversight and encouragement to pastors.”
Those are called elders or bishops.
He talks out of both sides of his mouth.
And I have friends who just adore him.
UGH!!!!!!
Of course they are. I listened to a Jewish teacher who said they are planting Muslims in every church in America - not to find Jesus - but, to as you put it - “case the joint.” If those Muslims aren’t being converted to Christianity, then why are they in Osteen’s congregation? He can’t have them worshiping their God and our God at the same time.
Didn’t Lakewood recently get ripped off $60,000 from the offering plates?
