I appreciate the truth of both your responses.
I appreciate the seriousness of the dark effect of the 60’s nihilism on the direction of the Church, certainly on the priesthood of the Western Church. Over time, these 60’s priest’s wonderings, away from the narrower path, have seen their way to the top of the Roman Church hierarchy, politically, socially, culturally, but in all these spheres of influence and change, particularly recognizable is the increased degree of spiritual dilution. The tragedy passing before our eyes is the loss of the faith and disillusionment supplied by the orchestrated negligence of the RCIA coffee clatch approach, full of casual mistreatment of real catechesis. The same may be said for the ineffectual homilies of today.
About the Holy Spirit, He must be grieving over the Western Church, its influence, and not desirous of any unholy placement of those who create such confusion and chaos. But, to your point, DW, Jesus did warn us of wolves among the sheep, and He did promise that “as evil increases, so doth my grace”, and surely great saints and martyrs may assist us as our holy witnesses in this time of drought. We pray for Divine Wisdom, especially in this time of grave and broad ignorance, that we will be led by our True Shepherd, and His Wisdom, made able to know the good fruit of saints on earth.

I cannot disagree with you. Many will be lost, a vast many do to this and it need not be. Pray, may God see to many wake up before their time comes and those in leadership positions recognize that they are the problem and need to follow His way or their punishment will be the most severe of all, as will as the souls they can save if they do follow.
